Making Your Outdoor Living Environment Winter-Friendly

Winter officially began December 21 and with winter comes snow, ice, and brisk temperatures. As temperatures lower and the sun sets earlier, you may find yourself retreating indoors, unable to enjoy your beautiful backyard space until early Spring. Luckily, with some simple touches and heating elements, you can avoid cabin fever and transform any outdoor space into one that is cozy and outdoor friendly, allowing you and your family to enjoy your patio cover well into the winter months ahead. Plant Coniferous Trees Wrap your patio cover with strategically-placed fern trees inside terracotta pots to keep in the warmth and keep out the wind and snow. Additionally, coniferous trees are known for pulling moisture out of the air. Patio Curtains If utilizing trees is not something you are interested in adding to your space, patio curtains is a great accessory to add to your space that could be as temporary or as permanent as you wish. Trend Alert: 2018's HOTTEST Top Holiday Décor Style

This year’s hottest holiday décor style is dubbed “Modern Farmhouse.” Inspired by HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” star interior designer, Joanna Gaines, “Modern Farmhouse” is not only practical, modern, and rustic, but cost-efficient and comfortable, too. Gaining traction in early 2018, “Modern Farmhouse” searches on Etsy are up 142% compared to last year and according to Google Trends, interest in the search term doubled year over year. The “Modern Farmhouse” style consists of warm tones, wood accents, plaid/striped or solid fabrics in dark reds, greys and blacks, beige and sage green hues, as well as galvanized steel, and other rustic, industrial, and vintage-themed materials. When considering your furnishings, “Modern Farmhouse” gears towards imperfect paint jobs, preferring chipping paint and a weathered look in beige or cream paired with bright and bold hues; “Modern Farmhouse” is the opposite of perfection in all the best ways possible. In fact, you don’t even have to match your furnit...

Preparing your LifeRoom for Winter

It is important to prepare your LifeRoom’s CoolMist system ahead of winter to avoid a plumbing malfunction caused by freezing temperatures. If you come across any issues during the Winterization Process outlined below, please contact customer support at 844-MYLIFEROOM. First, disconnect the main water supply by removing the adapter from the tap. Turn the pump on for five seconds, which will allow the water resting within the mist unit to purge through the pump and nozzles, blowing remaining water from the unit. Next, at the pump, press in the locking collect and pull out the tube. You will repeat this for both tubes located on the bottom of the pump. Remove the filter from the pump and ensure that it is drained fully. We suggest storing the filter inside to prevent frost damage. The remaining water left within the pump will flow out naturally by way of gravity. Utilizing a sturdy tape, tape over all open ends of the tubes to avoid dirt and debris from entering during the win...

Throwing a party is easy when you can expect warm weather, clear skies, and sun-drenched days. Pair this meal with a layered polenta dish that will knock the fluffy socks off your guests. Don’t forget to bring the entire meal together w...
